Festive Lamprais

The fragrant parcel, wrapped in banana leaf, is the loving collaboration of several traditional recipes unique to the Dutch Burgher community in Sri Lanka. The process of cooking Lamprais is reserved for the ladies of the household, to get together on a Sunday and cook up a feast to be enjoyed by the entire family after Sunday mass.

Our take on the traditional rice parcel features a Chicken Lampara Curry, served alongside fragrant spiced Samba rice,  Seeni Sambol, Ash Plantain, Brinjal Moju, Egg and a Fish frikkadel.

Or a vegetarian version featuring all of the above, with vegetable substitutes including Veggie Lampara Curry, served alongside fragrant spiced Samba rice,  Seeni Sambol, Pol Sambol, Ash Plantain, Brinjal Moju and a Breadfruit frikkadel.

The Lamprais is available to order a la carte from all the restaurants, priced at £16.5 (non veg) and £15.5 (veg) or as part of the festive feast menu starting from £49 per person which also includes a selection of short eats to begin and ending on a sweet note with Love Cake dessert.
