Celebrity Masterchef
Our co-founder and creative director Karan Gokani is appearing on Celebrity MasterChef this week.
Tune into BBC One on Tuesday 18 November at 8pm, or catch-up on BBC iPlayer.
From Hoppers to the Screen
Some of you may remember when Hoppers welcomed two contestants into our Soho kitchen back in 2019. This time, Karan steps into the Celebrity MasterChef kitchen to set a challenge inspired by the dishes he grew up cooking — Sri Lankan and South Indian recipes that demand technique, patience, and a good instinct for spice.
Watch as the celebrities take on recipes from some of your favourite dishes that you’ll recognise from our menu, including red Lankan Chicken Kari and String Hoppers.
Watch the episode, then come in and try the same recipes for yourself at Hoppers, all cooked with a little more time and a lot less stress.
Indian 101 Recipes
Karan also brings recipes from his latest cookbook, Indian 101, into the Celebrity MasterChef kitchen. If the show inspires you to get cooking, you can recreate dishes like Palak Paneer, a creamy spiced spinach and cheese curry, or Lemon Rice, fragrant and tangy, right in your own kitchen.
If you’re curious to see more recipes in action, Karan has recently shared dishes from the book on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, ITV’s This Morning, and Jeremy Vine on Channel 5.
But don’t just watch the shows; cook the flavours you saw on screen, now ready for your table at home.
