Hoppers St Christopher’s Place in Marylebone takes its inspiration from the Tropical Modernist movement associated with the late Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. Our menu features a selection of signature dishes and a cocktail menu crafted with ingredients from the spice gardens of Sri Lanka.

HOPPERS PRESENTS RAKSHA YAKKA NYE DINNER

This New Year’s Eve we’re putting a celebratory spin on the rustic traditions, flavours and sounds of Sri Lanka.

Taking inspiration from the traditions of village life, the mystery of the ‘Raksha Yakka’ comes alive at Hoppers as we shed the sins of the year and start afresh when the clock strikes 12!

Join us for a rustic 5-course feast including Ambul Thiyal Cutlets, Guinea Fowl & Cheese Kothu, Jaffna Curried Pomfret with Cassava chips, and more!

From the bar, toast to the new year with our White Ruby Punch (Ceylon Arrack, White Port, White Tea, Kumquat) and jam to the tune of island records all night long.

In the spirit of sharing we’re hosting a home cooks competition for anyone who would like to get more involved!  Send in your favourite festive recipes – whether it’s an old family gem or a new age classic. We’ll pick two of our favourite recipes and feature them on the SUNDAY SESSIONS CHRISTMAS MENU alongside our traditional Xmas feast. Winners will be invited to develop their dishes in our kitchen and dine with their families on the day.

National Curry Week // Lamprais Lottery // 7th-13th October

National Curry Week is a great reason to come together to celebrate curries from around the world!

Throughout years of colonization and influence from other countries, Sri Lanka has adapted its food culture into a blend of different curry concoctions and tasty dishes.

In honour of National Curry Week we’re celebrating the loving collaboration of special recipes unique to the Dutch Burgher community in Sri Lanka.  For the week of 7th – 11th October join us during lunchtime to enjoy the wonderfully smelling parcel that comes to you beautifully wrapped in charred banana leaf – Lamprais.

In the olden days, Lamprais was a firm Sunday favourite that took about 2 whole days of preparation and whole morning of cooking. It is truly a labour of love, unwrapped and devoured by family, extended family and friends after returning home from morning church service. The term Lamprais is derived from the Dutch word ‘lomprijst’ which loosely translates into ‘packet of rice’.

To mark the occasion we’re running a ‘Lamprais Lottery’; any one who orders a Lamprais during National Curry Week is in the chance for any of these special prizes:

Sunday Sessions // Crab Feast // 29th September 

Sunday Sessions at Soho are back again on the 29th of September for an all-out Crab feast!

In true Jaffna-style, guests can expect to dig in to a spicy, fiery crab curry so good that it makes you do a happy dance, sing its praises and forget all that hard work of cracking the claws and crab shells to get to the good stuff!

Tickets are priced at £40 per person, sitting times are 12pm, 3pm & 6pm.

Karan and the team will be cooking up a storm in the kitchen, including one-off specials; Fried Sprats, Chilli Garlic Mussels with String Hoppers, Crab Curry, Coconut Bread and much more!

The Adventures of Arrack Summer Dinners

This summer Hoppers St Christopher’s Place is hosting a series of dinners and masterclasses in partnership with Sri Lankan spirit brand, Ceylon Arrack. Due to the sell-out success of our last two events, we have added two new dates! 
Tickets are priced at £60 per person, including four courses and four cocktails, with a vegetarian menu available on request. 
Guests will also learn about the coconut spirit’s rich history and traditional distilling process.
The dinners will be held on Wednesday 14th August (sold out), 28th August and 18th September

It’s available alongside our Taste of Hoppers menu or the Brunch Menu, priced at £26 for three courses, including exclusive dishes like the bacon, egg and cheese kothu roti! We’re quite sure that no hangover will be able to defy this killer combination. 

Tables can be booked for Limitless Lion at brunch every Sunday from 7th July to 29th September, Limitless Lion must be ordered by the whole table.

The Lion Terrace for Summer!

This summer we are thinking sunny thoughts and launching our brand new Lion Terrace!

We’ve teamed up with Sri Lanka’s favourite beer brand to create an urban oasis, with leafy greenery, great food and ice-cold beer.

We’ve got 750ml bottles of Lion Lager and Lion Stout available to share, plus our brand new Lion Shandy cocktail: blending Lion with lemongrass, and a frozen grapefruit beer float. What’s more the whole menu will be served on the terrace at lunch, brunch and dinner.

We’re even giving your Sunday Brunch a boost with Limitless Lion Lager: just £25 for 90 minutes of free-flowing beer!

Hoppers initiatives

Hoppers is pleased to be supporting  Kind Hearted Lankans, as part of our #LoveOverHate initiative. We’re on a mission to raise awareness and funds to help those impacted by the Easter Sunday attacks in Colombo.

Throughout June, we will be helping to raise funds by adding an optional £1 donation to every bill. We will also be hosting a special edition of Sunday Sessions, with all proceeds going to the charity.
