Every year in Kerala, the harvest festival of Onam is welcomed with a Sadya. A vegetarian banquet served on banana leaves, where more than a dozen vibrant dishes come together to celebrate abundance and generosity.
For us at Hoppers, cooking and sharing the Sadya has become a cherished tradition, bringing our team together for a celebratory feast. Until now, it’s been something we’ve kept to ourselves, but this year, we’re opening our tables and inviting you to join us.
On Sunday 31st August, Hoppers King’s Cross will host ‘The Big Banana Leaf Feast.’ Long tables lined with banana leaves, brimming with colourful dishes like pumpkin curry, coconut and yoghurt curry with ash gourd, a sweet-and-sour pineapple pachadi, tamarind and ginger chutney, Kerala red rice and the all-important payasam, a comforting dessert that completes every South Indian meal. More than 15 vegetarian dishes will be served as part of this traditional feast, with the option to add seafood and meat supplements for those who wish.
Tickets are £40pp (all you can eat), with £10 from every ticket donated to Feeding the Future, our partner charity working to provide meals for underprivileged children in Sri Lanka.
Spaces are limited and we expect this one-day celebration to sell out quickly.
Reserve your spot today and celebrate Onam with us at Hoppers.
