Where Sri Lanka Meets South India
Reservations are now live. Book here to secure your table.
Hoppers Shoreditch opens on 4 February, inside the iconic Tea Building in the heart of Shoreditch.
Ten years on from our first restaurant in Soho, this is our fourth London restaurant, and the start of a new chapter where we explore some of the food capitals of South India. Expect to find all the Hoppers classics, alongside a number of exclusive new South Indian inspired dishes and drinks created specially for Shoreditch and never seen before at Hoppers.
What’s New On The Menu
Highlights include a Crab Kari Omelette with thread-like nool paratha, inspired by late-night comfort meals in Madurai; a crispy Benne Dosa packed with rich paneer ghee roast from Bangalore; and a deeply spiced Dindigul-style Beef Short Rib Biryani, slow-cooked with short-grain rice from Tamil Nadu.
From Kerala, there’s Sizzling Salmon Mappas and a Kerala Chilli Chicken Chop with serious crunch, and Prawn Paniyarams inspired by the flavours and techniques of Chettinad.
Drinks, the Hoppers Way
Our Shoreditch-only cocktails draw inspiration from South India’s café and drinks culture, reworking nostalgic favourites such as Rose+Milk Punch taking inspiration from the famed rose milk of Chennai, and the Young Monk which is a take on the iconic Old Monk rum and cola.
There are new soft drinks too, including a Jigarthanda Lassi inspired by Madurai, alongside other 0% alcohol cocktails, coolers and homebrews.
A First Look At The Space
Hoppers Shoreditch takes its cues from the old Chettiyar family homes of Tamil Nadu, reimagined for Shoreditch. Inside, you’ll find carved timber, patterned Athangudi tiles and tropical textures, brought together with an easy, lived-in warmth.
The space is filled with custom-made pieces, sculpture, art and photography from artists in Chennai , celebrating everyday life, colour and craft. It’s a room designed to be explored slowly. Familiar in spirit, but entirely new…and unmistakably Hoppers.
